Steve is involved in all facets of urban valuation work in Whangarei city and throughout the immediate area north of Whangarei. His expertise in Northland dates back to 1972. His key focus areas are the mid-north region's lifestyle, coastal and commercial centres, together with a substantial asset valuation portfolio. This work range includes arbitration and litigation advice on a wide variety of disputes. Steve is currently a director of TelferYoung (New Zealand) Ltd.

Julian Rattray

Julian commenced his valuation career in Wellington in 1997, in mid 1999 he relocated to Whangarei. Julian is involved in all facets of urban valuation work in Whangarei City including coastal valuations in the Whangarei Heads area. His special areas of interest include ground rental assessments, industrial and commercial property.

Nigel Kenny

Nigel originally commenced practice in London in 1979 going on to specialise in the commercial field, majoring in investment and development work. Since emigrating to Whangarei in 1995 he has continued to specialise in commercial work and now consults to a number of substantial private organisations, local authorities and government departments. Nigel is chairman of the Northland Branch of the NZPI.

Mark Aslin

Mark commenced his valuation career in Otago in 1974 after completing studies at Auckland University. Relocating to Northland in 2002 Mark covers the full range of urban valuations but with a focus on commercial and industrial properties as well as coastal properties south of Whangarei.
Mark completed a post graduate diploma in property development, management and feasibility analysis through Lincoln University in 2001.

Craig Russell

Craig worked during his University breaks for TY Northland and joined as a permanent staff member in November 2005. He has completed a BBS degree at Massey University, Palmerston North and is currently assisting in the residential and commercial sector working towards registration.

Following five years in the construction industry John has spend 44 years in the Valuation/Property profession. After 11 years with the Government Valuation Department; 33 years in private practice have included 5 years as a Business Manager of a large real estate company and 28 years specialising in industrial, commercial, tourism and hospitality property. John is a member of the land valuation tribunal and has extensive litigation, arbitration, court presentation/expert witness experience.

Martyn Cottle

Martyn brings to TelferYoung a broad range of life and business experience having owned firms manufacturing aluminium joinery and glazing, along with an employment history including construction and land survey draughting. He is currently completing the BApplSc (Rural Valuation) from Massey University part-time and working towards registration. Valuation experience is currently focussed on lifestyle properties and residential.

Aaron Hunt

Aaron joined the TelferYoung (Northland) team in August 2006 to assist Alistair in the rural sector. He was brought up on a beef farm in the Manawatu before graduating from Lincoln University. Prior to taking up this position he worked for six months in the Waikato as a Valuer before undertaking a year-long OE. Interests include farming, outdoor activities and basically any sport being played. He has brought the average age of the office down and is looking forward to helping out clients with their rural requirements.
