More than 50 CBRE and TelferYoung from CBRE runners and walkers cast aside hideous weather to take part in the Auckland Marathon last Sunday.
Auckland employees were joined by participants from Waikato, Northland, Rotorua and even one ring-in from the Gold Coast in Australia.
Mitchell Carlyle, Michael Gunn and Dylan Bennett tackled the full marathon, and a further 16 contested the half marathon, with the balance of the 54 taking part in other elements of the event.
Mitchell’s time of 2h50m23s placed him 25th overall and 11th in his age group, while Michael and Dylan completed a full marathon for the first time.
The overall split was roughly 50-50 between CBRE and TelferYoung from CBRE personnel.
Craig Russell was among the employees who travelled from the Northland TelferYoung from CBRE office, to complete his second half marathon and first in Auckland.

It wasn't without its challenges, though. He only made it to the start with minutes to spare - and thanks to hitchhiking and a hire scooter - due to event-related traffic.
Craig has raised more than $8,000 for the KidsCan Charitable Trust, smashing his target of $5,000 to be the top fundraiser for the charity and the fifth highest outright.

“The weather and some challenges getting to the start line led to some good tales in in the CBRE marquee post event and it was a good way to meet others – even if many did look like drowned rats,” Craig said.
“Five of us from our Northland office headed to Auckland with all of us taking part in different events. It was really worthwhile and I would certainly do it again.”
Among the other fundraisers, Matt Hockey has raised more than $2,000 for Auckland City Mission and Dylan Bennett has cleared $1,700 for the Mental Health Foundation of NZ.
