TelferYoung Taranaki is a multi-disciplined company located in New Plymouth and serves the Taranaki District for all valuation and building survey requirements.
The company was first formed by John Larmer in 1973 as Larmers, and was a founding member of TelferYoung in 2000. Current directors are Mike Myers, Rowan Cambie, Mike Drew and Adam Boon. Of the four, Mike Myers has been the longest serving, joining in 1987 and gaining extensive knowledge of the Residential and Commercial markets along the way. Rowan became a director in 2011, following a long period in rural banking and a stint in the hospitality industry. Mike Drew began working with TelferYoung in 2004, becoming a director in 2015. He specialises in the Commercial and Residential markets. Adam became a director in 2018, after working as a valuer for the company since 2005. He specialises in Commercial and Residential markets.
Our team has established itself as the largest valuation practice in Taranaki. We cover the entire range of property types including residential, commercial and rural. We have developed specialised skills in particular areas pertinent to the Taranaki region. These include dairying, oil and gas, compensation, and leasehold property. We act for a wide range of Local Authorities, SOE’s, national and international companies, and many Taranaki based property investors.
At the start of 2017, Taranaki House Inspections became part of TelferYoung (Taranaki) Limited. We have a full time Building Surveyor, offering services including pre-purchase inspections, pre-sale inspections, moisture and thermal imaging, meth testing and insulation reporting to meet the recent changes in the Tenancy Act.
