BACKGROUND

Grant came to Rotorua in 1982 and spent five years working for Valuation New Zealand in Rotorua, Taupo, and Whakatane. He joined Reid and Reynolds in 1987 and became a director the following year. When Reid and Reynolds joined TelferYoung in 2012, Grant was a director of TelferYoung Rotorua until March 2020. He also served on the national TelferYoung Limited board for 4 years. 

Grant has been valuing in the Rotorua area for over 39 years over a wide cross section of property types. While dual qualified, Grant has largely focused on commercial valuation work in the Rotorua/Taupo and wider Bay of Plenty area with specialist knowledge in tourist accommodation properties and special use property.

  • Experience as an umpire in valuation matters and currently serves on the Land Valuation Tribunal

PERSONAL INTERESTS

Grant has always been and still is a very active sportsman and now regularly competes in multisport and triathlon events representing NZ at age group level and is an avid cyclist and mountain biker. 

He has previously been a competitive squash player, golfer, cricketer and a social rugby player. Grant has been heavily involved in sports administration in Rotorua with numerous clubs and organisations being the past chairman of Sport Bay of Plenty for 8 years and is the current chairman of the Rotorua Trails Trust.
