BACKGROUND
Martyn’s background is as a mixed arable/livestock farmer’s son with his family farm in East Yorkshire, England. He was educated at Cambridge University, England, gaining a degree in Land Economy and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Surveyor, Rural Practice Division in 1996.
After immigrating to New Zealand in 2000, Martyn worked in Northland as a valuer until he joined Reid & Reynolds in 2004 to work alongside Hugh Reynolds within the firm’s rural division. He was appointed rural team leader in 2006 and was a Director of Reid & Reynolds 2007-2011.
